Meeting this Thursday begins preparations for the AgAv 2025 Congress
The Event Management Committee will hold a virtual meeting in the afternoon to finalize the evaluation of 2024 and start outlining the layout and theme for next year’s event, which will take place in Mato Grosso
Still celebrating the success of the 2024 Brazilian Agricultural Aviation Congress (AvAg Congress), which took place about two weeks ago in Mato Grosso, the Event Management Committee will meet this Thursday (4th). While closing the evaluation of this year’s edition, they are already focusing on 2025. The goal is to start outlining the layout for the Technology, Equipment, and Services Exhibition for next year. In addition, the event’s theme, scheduled for August 19-21, will be discussed. The venue will again be the Santo Antônio do Leverger Executive Airport, located about 30 km from Cuiabá.
According to Sindag’s Executive Director, Gabriel Colle, the urgency is due to the fact that the first exhibitors have already approached Sindag to secure participation in the next Congress. Moreover, since the event set new records in terms of attendance and business—among other figures that raised the bar for the agricultural aviation gathering—the goal is to be prepared for something even bigger in 2025, including increased visibility for the sector.

In addition to Colle, the Congress Management Committee includes Sindag’s president, Hoana Almeida Santos, and the organization’s operations director, Cláudio Júnior Oliveira. Also participating are the Congress administrative coordinator, Marília Luíze Schüler, and the operational coordinator, Janete Lima. The group’s meeting will take place online starting at 2:00 p.m.
Success Summarized in Numbers
The AvAg Congress 2024 took place from August 20 to 22, attracting 4,851 visitors—56% more than the 3,100 attendees at the 2023 edition in Sertãozinho, SP (which was already considered a high number for a specialized event). Additionally, this year’s edition generated R$ 250 million in business transactions, more than double last year’s total. The number of exhibitors also grew by 25%, with 224 brands participating in 2024. The event occupied an area of 23,000 square meters, including hangars and the maneuvering yard at Leverger Airport. Moreover, the number of research presentations at the Agricultural Aviation Scientific Congress doubled, with 24 studies showcased this year.
The announcement of these numbers was made by Sindag’s president during the closing speech of the AvAg Congress 2024, two weeks ago. However, Hoana Almeida Santos also emphasized that the decision to keep the event in Mato Grosso (for at least another year) was influenced by exhibitors’ feedback, as well as the favorable reception at Leverger Airport, managed by businessmen Valdinei and Nathan Souza—whose support was crucial to the event’s success, and who celebrated the renewal of the partnership.
The president also highlighted the presence of over 100 farmers at the event, many of whom operate their own agricultural aircraft. This audience holds special interest for both Sindag and the Brazilian Agricultural Aviation Institute (Ibravag), which was represented by its president, Júlio Augusto Kämpf.
In this context, the focus of the continuous improvement programs and best practices of the organizations is aimed at strengthening both the sector itself and its stakeholders. “This is great news for an event that returned to Mato Grosso (after 11 years) with the goal of getting even closer to private operators,” Hoana highlighted during the occasion.
PERSONALITIES
The AvAg Congress 2024 also included the Mercosur and Latin American Agricultural Aviation Congress (with delegations from agricultural aviation organizations in Argentina and Uruguay). However, the event ‘s growing prestige was particularly evident with the presence of two governors: Mauro Mendes (PP) from Mato Grosso, and Ibaneis Rocha (MDB) from the Federal District. Joining them were senators Wellington Fagundes (PL/MT) and Jayme Campos (União Brasil/MT), Mato Grosso state representatives Júlio Campos (União Brasil) and Diego Guimarães (Republicanos), and Rio Grande do Sul representative Marcus Vinicius (PP), who was honored for authoring a bill in his state aimed at promoting the sector.
Other notable attendees included former governor, former senator, and former Minister of Agriculture Blairo Maggi, former Sindag president and current mayor of Poxoréu, Nelson Antônio Paim, and Leverger mayor, Francieli Magalhães (PDT).
