3.2 thousand visitors and US$ 25 milion in business at the Brazilian AgAv Congress
Closing ceremony, on Thursday afternoon (the 20th), also had the award of the winning researches of the Scientific Congress of Agricultural Aviation
Sertãozinho (SP) – Around 3,200 visitors and a volume of transactions that could reach 120 million reais (US$ 25.2 million), between closed deals and negotiations started in three days of programming. This was the outcome of the Brazilian Agricultural Aviation Congress (AgAv Congress), which brought together businessmen, pilots, suppliers, researchers and other professionals in Sertãozinho, in the São Paulo State. The 2023 edition of one of the largest agaviation meetings in the world ended on Thursday (the 20th), with three days of programming also marked by the massive presence of drones (in addition to turboprop aircraft and historic planes) and the generation and sharing of knowledge – with a record of research presented and the launch of two books on good agaviation practices.
The CEO of the National Union of Agricultural Aviation Companies (SINDAG, which organizes the event), Gabriel Colle, also celebrates the representativeness of the public. “We had the presence of people from virtually all Brazilian states, in addition to visitors and exhibitors from several countries, such as the United States, Canada, Argentina, Colombia and Bolivia. From the point of view of SINDAG and IBRAVAG (Brazilian Institute of Agricultural Aviation, which supports the event), more than 60% of the associates visited the Brazilian AgAv Congress. People from all parts of Brazil, so this number is very significant”, he says.

The event also featured demonstrations with drones flying alone or simultaneously, before and after agricultural aircraft flights simulating applications in crops and firefighting. In the exhibition of technologies, equipment and services, more than 180 brands shared the space in the exhibition pavilion of the Zanini Events Center. The 12 thousand square meter building also housed the multipurpose arena and two more auditoriums, as well as a meeting room, press center and other services. In addition to the exhibition of historic planes (which welcomed visitors who entered the pavilions) and the external display of agricultural planes.
For the SINDAG’S CEO, the edition’s great legacy is a transition to the future. The academic research presented by students and scientists who participated in the AgAv Scientific Congress (within the AgAv Congress program) demonstrates this point of view. “The knowledge forms a strong base and generates good practices for the field”. For this reason, this year the Brazilian agricultural aviation meeting also saw the launch of two manuals on agricultural aviation: one on documentation, legislation and operations and the other on good practices. Both show the state of the art of the Brazilian agaviation sector and what society expects from us”, says Colle.
WINNING RESEARCHES
The closing ceremony of the AgAv Congress also had the announcement of the results of the AgAv Scientific Congress. The research that won 1st place this year was “Use of remotely piloted aircraft for the application of phytosanitary products in the coffee crop“.
